In the year 1978, Mr. Vijay Kumar Arora began a small company in the village of Amritsar.
Today, LT Foods is the leading processor of rice and other speciality foods in India.

LT foods was a partnership firm

Incorporation of LT Overseas as a Private Limited Company now known as LT Foods Ltd.

Converted into a Public Limited Company.

Setting up of first milling capacity of 4 TPH for total self- reliance at Sonipat.

Certificate of merit was awarded by APEDA for significant contribution in the export of Indian Long Grain Rice.

IAwarded 'APEDA Export award' for outstanding contribution for Promotion of agricultural and processed food products during the year 1996-97.

Took over the business of Lal Chand Tirath Ram Rice Mill having the capacity of 6 TPH.

Recognized as Star Trading House by Government of India.

Started another the processing facility at Bahalgarh Unit

Obtained Quality certificates ISO 9001:2000, HACCP , SQF (Safe Quality Food) 20000CM for comprehensive food safety and Quality management systems

Received the right to use APEDA certification mark 'Quality Produce of India' for exports.

Award from APEDA for export promotion and quality development of Basmati Rice

India Star Award from Indian Institute of Packaging.

Awarded 'Udyog Ratna' by PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry for valuable contribution to Economic Development of Haryana

Company got listed in Bombay Stock Exchange.

Honored by APEDA Export Award for outstanding contribution to promotion of Agricultural and Processed food products.
• New ultra modern rice plant began operations at Mandideep, Bhopal
• Acquired a top US Company, Kusha Inc with its brand Royal

Following its diversifications strategy changed the name from LT Overseas became LT Foods Ltd.

The private equity arm of RaboBank made an investment of USD 10 million in the parent as well as in subsidiary company.

LT Foods established a new plant in Varpal, Punjab.
• Launched four new variants of Specialist Range of Daawat Basmati Rice, Daawat Biryani Basmati Rice, Daawat Traditional Basmati Rice, Daawat Super Basmati Rice and Daawat Pulav Basmati Rice.

Under the PPP model with Pungrain, LT Foods developed 50,000 MT capacity Silos in Amritsar for bulk storage of grains.

Growing brands, expanding distribution network, increasing investments in advertising and brand promotion, and diversifying our customer offerings through sustained research & development has yielded rich dividends over the years.


LT Foods brands and products are sold in over 60 countries across Asia, North & South America, Europe, Australia and Africa.


We sell over 300,000 Metric Tons of packaged basmati rice every year.


In India alone, our brands are featured at more than 100,000 retail outlets.


We supply to over 4,000 food service outlets in India.


Our branded business has shown a consistent compound annual growth rate of over 20%.


Our brands "Royal" and "Daawat" tower over the competition at the No. 1 and No. 2 positions in the US and India, respectively.
